A Place where the "Champagne" flows like the salmon of the Capistrano...

The semiannual somewhat famous Champagne Brunch was well under way on a special Saturday afternoon. It was quite a sight with many a corks in the air, 40's for all to share, and quite the opposite of a nightmare. If you weren't there then be ready for the next day fiasco of kings and well be Treehousing or Lodging in the near future as well. Here's some photos for gandering.

Sixty Years at Dodge Ridge

So our favorite mountain that's too small for huge advertisements and multinational corporations to spring up a series of 4/5 star hotels is celebrating 60 years in the High Sierra Nevadas. Dodge Ridge is my home mountain and is home to many central Californians and for my 18th season I'll be visiting my home away from home. Fortunately its a big year celebrating and anniversary with plenty of fun stuff going on. It'll be hopefully opening on or around turkey and stuffing so don't eat too much because there will be plenty of riding in the days following. Check out whats new at their site and keep updated. http://www.dodgeridge.com/site/

Frozen!? Finally...

SOooo I've been gone a little while. .With school, celebrating one more year and losing all my money there comes one redeeming factor. The snow is here. The season is just starting and its coming quick. Along with spending money is the new board that needs to be purchased. The new Capita Stairmaster Extreme (156). Its the number one Good Wood of the year over $400 and I hope it'll be under my binders before Turkey day rolls around in a week or so. What's new about the board? The Extreme line has a couple new things such as epoxy glass construction, sintered base, and a cambered construction to deliver a bit more than the standard Stairmaster. Check it out at http://www.capitasnowboarding.com/snowboards/stairmaster-extreme

Fireworks and Fire Ants

The yearly trip out to Michigan went as smoothly as usual. Although a bit short lived a good amount of eating frozen custard, wakeboarding, relaxing, and golf of course, were able to come to pass. The extended family even had a party which was pretty entertaining (minus the freak thunder cell incident). Hope next year can have just as much of about everything.

Home Again, With Detours

Third trip home in a month period... it might not sound all that exciting going back to the valley, especially with the overwhelming amount of time behind the wheel, but its been necessary. Being homeless in San Diego is coming to an end and time in the house on Blacks will soon be gone. Work, although not entirely work, has started for the first time recently. If the two glimpses into high rise buildings are at all windows to possible future paths then most stereotypes are fulfilled unfortunately. Improvement is all that can really occur because Microsoft Excel and packing boxes is like pulling teeth. Fortunately, visits to home and SF and have been popular and will likely continue that way with the occasional Sacramento or SB stop. Interesting new neighborhoods (Valencia) and places to eat that will hopefully be returned to for the people there are a good group. The friends are the same as usual except for the one who has to give a bit of time to the government from a cell (RR). The girlfriend is around and well but 10 hours away unfortunately. Over dinner mom mentioned she liked this one which is odd because mom never really gives that kind of info out for free. Could go a while so well see how good mom is on theis one. The family is in tough times especially when the head of the house takes the heaviest part of it. Uncle P and DMV are kept in thoughts. Cancer better only hit one for the time being. More than that would be too much for anyone. Father's day is tomorrow, and a card still needs to be purchased. Hopefully a game of golf can be squeezed in before the 7 hour drive back to SD. All in all, home is comforting and its a bummer that no more will be spent doing nothing here with Gateswah, Jefe F, woozle, and Hassen. Maybe after college.

Intro...

The opener for this is nothing much fancier than the text in the little "about me" blurp. For the amount of fun seen around the areas of South Mission Beach, greater San Diego, Merced, SF, SB, and travels, not much is clearly detailed about what has happened or what has been done. To look back in a decade to have not timeline to gauge the great times had seems like a waste or a misfortune. The high hopes are that enough entries can be made as to where it doesn't seem like a waste like the pictures most of the people around have taken. Theres never a caption to explain them. Writing isn't a strong point so keeping this from boring most will be quite a challenge. As long as I can appreciate it in x amount of time.
